John Mayer, age 70 of Reedsburg passed away Thursday, December 19 2019 at the Tomah VA Medical Center.
He was born in Johnsburg, WI, on April 21, 1949 to Francis and Leona (Lefeber) Mayer. On October 10, 1970, he married Diane Daley at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eden WI. John joined the Marine Corps in 1966. He actively served in the Vietnam War as an Aviation Electronics Operator. He was a proud supporter of the Disabled American Veterans. John was a truck driver for many years. Most recently he worked in manufacturing at Ariens Company in Brillion, WI. where he later retired from.
He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. John also enjoyed fishing, gardening, golfing, woodworking, and puzzles. He was a Green Bay Packer and Milwaukee Brewers fan.
He is survived by his daughter, Jenny (Darryl) Hintz; grandchildren: CoraLee (Al) Seal, Alex Seal, Holly, Maddie, and Melanie; great-granddaughter, Lilyanna; brothers and sisters: Jim (Marge) Mayer, Mary (Gib) Pilon, Joe (Judy) Mayer, Jeff (Kim) Mayer and Jane (Mike) Treichel.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, brother, Jerry Mayer; sister, Joan Hrudka, and granddaughter, Miriah Seal.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, December 27th from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. at the American Legion Hall in Fond du Lac, WI. Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Military Honors.
