Helen Josephine Brown Bishop, 87, widow of Daniel Ray Bishop, passed away January 2, 2020 at Self Regional Healthcare.
A resident of Garner Heights Rd, she had made her home at Ashley Place Assisted Living for the last three years.
Born September 20, 1932 in Mountville, SC, she was the daughter of Ruel James Brown and Eva Cole Brown.
She graduated from Clinton High School and had worked at Nantex and Park Seed Co. prior to her retirement. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and The John Knox Sunday School Class. She had served as a teacher and on committees there. She also volunteered at Hospice and the Soup Kitchen. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother and was very special to her family. She had a huge and loving heart that touched the lives of family, friends, and others with her kindness and generosity and will be loved and remembered always.
She was pre-deceased by her husband of 46 years, her sister Mildred Brown Eakin and her husband Fred Eakin, her brother William Earl Brown and his wife Montese Brown, her son-in-law Carey Bach Copeland, and brother-in-law Wilkins Campbell.
She is survived by her beloved children Lisa Ray Bishop Copeland of Wake Forest, NC, Cary Metts Bishop and his wife Mary Beth Bedenbaugh Bishop of Greenwood, SC, a very loved grandson on whom she doted, Matthew Robert Bishop, P.E., of Lexington, SC, sister-in-law Curtis Lee Bishop Campbell of Greenville, SC, and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will take place following services at Oakbrook Memorial Park.
