Memorial service for Edwin Ragsdale, 95, of Ada will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, at The Refuge.

Edwin Ragsdale passed away Jan. 19, 2018, at a local nursing facility. He was born at Santa Paula, California, to Glenn and Loia (Wigley) Ragsdale in 1922. Edwin served in the Navy in the South Pacific during WWII. He married Ruth Wilkins in 1947, and they moved to Ada from southern California in 1980.

Edwin was the owner/operator of Ada Excavating for 15 years and had been a truck driver and equipment operator most of his life. He was a member of The Refuge (formerly Victory Life Fellowship) and had served on the church council and as head of the ushering staff. He loved to serve in the upkeep of the campus facilities.

Edwin was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth; his parents; and a brother, Earl.

Survivors include two sons, Tom Ragsdale and his wife, Myra, of Ada, and Terry Ragsdale and his wife, Vickie, of Ada. Also surviving are grandchildren Thomas Ragsdale and his wife, Toni, of Kingsville, Texas, Tracy Page and her husband, Danny, of Lake Havasu City, Arizona, Rhonda Ragsdale of Houston and Lisa Ragsdale of Plano, Texas; and great-grandchildren Kissindre and Kellyn Kimbrell, Noah Davis Ragsdale and Kylie Page. Survivors also include a brother, Wally.
