Claude Hayward Johnson, 86 of Lynch, previously of Louisville, departed this life for his eternal home in heaven on Friday, December 20, 2019. He was born March 06, 1933 to the late Henry and Nancy McCreary Johnson. Claude attended Bryant and Stratton Business Institute studying accounting. He served proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean War, member of the Beach Masters Unit, also a Scout Master for the BSA Troup 777. Claude was a volunteer firefighter for Highview Fire Department. Former founding member of Okolona Church of God and attended most recently Trinity Holiness Tabernacle in Cumberland, Kentucky. He retired after 35 years from General Electric Appliances.

He is also preceded in death by his first wife, Lou Johnson; son, William Matthew Johnson, son-in-law, John W. Schultz, grandaughters, Rachael and Rebecca Fernandes, brothers, Robert "Bob" Johnson, Arthur Johnson and sister Phena Ruth Johnson Fleig.

Claude is survived by his wife, Anna Sue Scott Johnson, of Lynch and left to cherish his memory are his children, Gerri Schultz, Debbie Fernandes (Mark), and Claude “Buddy” Johnson, Jr., all of Louisville; grandchildren, Stefanie Schultz, Sara Fernandes, Amanda Fernandes, Andrew Fernandes (Kaelin), Nathan Johnson (Heather) and Jacob Johnson (Anna), great-grandchildren, Ivy Johnson, Fenix Johnson, Aurora Fernandes, Mila Fernandes, Kal Wesley Johnson and many nieces, nephews and friends.

A visitation will take place on Thursday, December 26, 2019, at Arch L. Heady at Resthaven, 4400 Bardstown Road, Louisville, KY between 3 – 8 pm. Funeral services will be Friday, December 27, 2019 at 10 am with entombment in the Resthaven Memorial Park.
