Dale was born April 20, 1933 in Decatur, IL along with his twin sister Jane, to his parents, Theodore and Carrie (Barton) Greene.
He united in Holy Matrimony to Elizabeth (Joyce) Hood on December 31, 1953 in Decatur, IL.
Dale worked and retired for Decatur Public Schools District #61 in the Maintenance Dept. He was also a licensed electrician who operated “Greene Diamond Electrical Service.” He loved his wife and family dearly; you would often find them in the car with him “Going for a ride.” A man who loved to talk (sometimes without a filter). Dale would be characterized as a “PEOPLE PERSON.”
At a young age, Dale became a member of the Church of Christ and attended Greenwood Church of Christ on Greenwood Ave, in Decatur, IL, which was established by his late grandfather, Elder Jessie Barton.
Dale was preceded in death by his Parents, Twin Sister, and Wife.
Leaving to cherish warm and fond memories are his children: Marilyn Greene-Hall and Bryan (Felicia) Greene; Grandchildren: Misti (Cliff), Bryan (Paige), Tiana, Johnathan, and Kieston (Alicia); Great-grandchildren: Ra’Lyn, Alexia, Ahmari, Jhalani, Janiya, Aubree, Preston, Braxton, Kye, Kylin and Tenia; Great-great grandchildren: Ra’Ya, Mihja, and Ma’Teo. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Betty Jean Cruz and Bessie Abl, and as host of other family members and friends.
