Rosie Lee Jefferson Johnson, 92 of Blytheville, passed away Thursday, December 19, 2019 at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born February 20, 1927 in Dell, Arkansas to William and Lucy Spears Jefferson.

She was a faithful member of Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church where she served the church as Secretary and bookkeeper for more than 63 years, she was a Sunday School teacher, sang in the choir and served in the Missionary Society. Mrs. Jones served diligently in these capacities at Shady Grove until her health began to fail. Moving to Blytheville she united with Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist under the leadership of Bishop Theodis Rucker and remained faithful until her transition from earth to eternity.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence Johnson, one son Jesse Adams, brothers Jacob, Andrew, Albert, Louis, Isiah and Solomon; sisters Mary and Hattie and a granddaughter Markita Jackson.

She leaves to forever cherish her memory one son, Clarence Johnson of Memphis, Tennessee; our daughters Teressa Wells of Blytheville, Arkansas, Ella (Gerald) Hublin of Edwardsville, Illinois; Juanita (Eddie) Brown of Gosnell, Arkansas and Inez Johnson Ross of Florissant, Missouri; nine grandchildren, twenty-four great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Johnson will be conducted on Friday, December 27, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 930 South Lake Street, Blytheville, Arkansas where Reverend Bobby Patterson is the Pastor Elect. Reverend Laddie Whaley will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Yarbro. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. McDonald-Horne Funeral Home is in charge of services and arrangements
