Willie Hester Gordon

Funeral services for Mrs. Willie Hester “Dear” Gordon, 90, of Cruger were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29 at Wilson & Knight Chapel in Greenwood. Rev. Rusty Bird and Rev. Lamar Slay officiated. Burial was in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood.

Mrs. Gordon died Monday, May 27 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital in Greenwood of pneumonia.

She was the widow of Hewitt Gordon.

A native of Yazoo City, she moved to Cruger in 1924. She was a homemaker and a member of Cruger Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School.

Survivors include: sons, Henry L. Gordon and Thomas L Gordon, both of Cruger; daughter, Jean Gordon Slay of Pilot Point, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Lamar Slay, - Slay, Gene Slay, Terri Slay, - Turner, Neal Turner, Tommy - and Norman Morgan.

Memorials may be made to - Baptist Church.
