Gary William Brothers, (USN, Ret.), 78, of Orange Park, FL passed away December 13, 2019 at the Clyde E. Lassen VA nursing home in St. Augustine, FL.
Born on November 17, 1941 in Canton, Ohio, he was the son of Carl Brothers and Mary (Kyle) Brothers. He was the husband of Dorothy Leathorn Brothers.
Gary graduated from McKinley High School in 1959 in Canton, Ohio and enlisted in the US Navy where he served as a Dental Technician until his retirement in 1991 after 23 years of dedicated service.
Gary loved collecting baseball cards, watching football, playing baseball, bowling, dancing and singing.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of forty years, are his daughters, Carla Broyles and her husband Ed of Canton, Ohio and Cheryl Burwell of Canton, Ohio; his step-children Nancy Sigman of Frederick, MD. Dawn Pickren and her husband Kelly of Jacksonville, FL. and William Beaudry and his wife Jill of King George, VA.; siblings Olivia Nofer and her husband Steve of Canton, Ohio and Eric Brothers and his wife Sally of Canton, Ohio; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service to honor Gary will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
