Betty Parks happily joined her husband, mother, friends and family in heaven on September 25, 2019. Born on August 5, 1930 in Monteagle, Tennessee, she was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. David Parks and Betty Holder were married 68 years after a brief courtship that crossed state lines and many Greyhound Bus trips. She is survived by her 3 sons: Keith (Joella), Mike (Candy) and Craig (Lori); 5 Grandchildren: Adam (Karissa), Meredith (Brandon), Bennett (Deirdre), Connor (Kalia) and Matthew; and two great grand-daughters, Callie & Brighton. In addition, she is survived by two younger sisters: Doreen Smith (Les) of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, and Ruby Nunley (Marshall), of Monteagle, Tennessee. After supporting David throughout his 20+ year career in the Air Force, and raising a family, Betty continued her primary goal of running a family and becoming the World's Greatest Grandmother as the family made their way to Orlando, Florida. In addition, she was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), and served as a Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School volunteer, Cub Scout Den Mother, Band Parent and Little League Team Mom. At Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church Betty was a constant figure in women's groups and church-wide dinners.
