Obituary for Mrs. Diane S. Jackson
Diane S. Jackson, 68, of Seymour, passed from this life at 12:05 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2019 at I.U. Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Jackson was born September 13, 1951, the daughter of Harold Leroy and Lillian Meyer Kerkhof .
Diane married Tom O. Jackson January 29, 1972 at Trinity Methodist Church in Seymour.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 48 years; her mother, Lillian Meyer Kerkhof Goecker of Seymour; children, Bradley (Eric) Jackson of Taylorsville, Jaime Miller of Seymour and Brian (Melissa) Jackson of Bloomington; grandchildren, Bryce Miller, Avery Miller and Wesley Miller, David Jackson, Maya Jackson and Ben Jackson; and a sister, Peggy (Floyd) Bowman of North Vernon.
She was preceded in death by her father; and son-in-law, Ken Miller.
Diane was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
In 1971 she graduated from Indiana Central (University of Indianapolis) with an Associate Degree in Registered Nursing and later earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from IUPUC.
She demonstrated her caring and compassion during her nursing career, volunteering at church and Love Chapel.
Diane loved her family and devoted much time to her husband, three children and six grandchildren.
She was always planning games, activities and family vacations. Along with her husband Tom they loved to travel, watch their grandkids and spend time with their many friends. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed being a snowbird in Winter Haven, Florida.
The funeral will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Clifty with Pastor Douglas Bauman officiating.
Family and friends may call from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at St. Paul Lutheran Church-Clifty and 9:00 a.m. to time of service at the church.
Burial will be St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made St. Paul Lutheran Church-Clifty.
