Auto Race Car Driver. He won 50 Cup Series races between 1955 and 1965, most notably winning the 1960 Daytona 500. After retiring as a driver in 1966, he became a team owner, with drivers such as Bobby Allison, Cale Yarborough, Bill Elliott, Terry Labonte, and Darrell Waltrip. As an owner, his drivers won 139 races and six championships. In 1990, he was inducted into the International Motorsports Hall Of Fame. In 1991, he was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America, and in 2010, he was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.
