James Clifton Bullard, Sr., better known as Jim Bullard or Ro, 84, left this world to be with The Lord and his Savior Jesus Christ at 6:25pm on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at The Blake in Oxford, Miss.

He entered Heaven's pearly gates peacefully, with his granddaughter Rachel Suzanne Bullard by his side. She was holding his right hand, as The Lord took his left hand, to lead him home. His last earthly moments were enjoyed by the fireplace admiring the twinkling lights on his Christmas tree as he and Rachel listened to The University of Mississippi Marching Band play "From Dixie with Love".

He was born on September 25, 1935 in Oxford, Miss., to James Andrew Bullard and Mary Leona Smith Bullard. He went on to graduate from The University of Mississippi Law School in 1958. After marrying Linda Gail Clayton of Senath, he made his home in Kennett, and began his law practice.

For over 50 years, Jim helped thousands of people successfully traverse the legal system in Southeast Missouri, and built a successful business that allowed him to give back to his beloved community, and to spoil the ones he loved.

His legacy lives on in his first born, Andrew Clayton Bullard (Sonja) better know as Clay, of Kennett. Clay followed in his fathers footsteps and graduated from The University of Mississippi Law School and became an attorney, and his father's law partner, together creating Bullard and Bullard Law Firm.

His daughter Melinda Bullard Holt (Stockton) made Charlotte, N.C. home, where she and her daughter, Taylor Holt, own and operate Holt Marketing. Melinda's son, Owen Holt, also of Charlotte N.C., enjoys spending his free time in the woods hunting, just as he grew up doing with his grandfather.

His name sake, James Clifton Bullard, Jr., (Megan) better known as Clif, resides in Memphis, Tenn. He makes his living as a computer programmer for The City of Memphis. A high-ranking martial arts black belt, he enjoys imparting his knowledge and skills to others across the United States.

Later in life, Jim would marry Sherry Kay Hill and adopt her daughter Melanie Kay Todd (Mike) of Harmontown Miss., and their two children, James 'Jamie' Todd and Anna Kay Todd, and care for them as if they were his own.

In addition to his spouse, children, and grandchildren, he will be missed by his black Labrador Retriever, Cate, whom he loved dearly.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved spending time at the family cabin, known as The Diggin's, on Sardis Lake in northern Mississipi. He had a passion for nature and wildlife, and enjoyed sharing his love for the great outdoors with his children and grandchildren, often reminding them who turns lights of the world on and off each day.

A devoted supporter of Ole Miss Rebels Football, he loved being in The Grove on a crisp fall morning, making friends of strangers by offering a charismatic smile and hearty handshake, proudly declaring "Jim Bullard, Kennett, glad to meet you! Where are you from?" and selflessly give of his time to genuinely get to know them.

A faithful member of First Baptist Church in Kennett, Jim was a generous and caring man, and a respected leader in the Christian community.

The family encourages those that knew and loved Jim, to join them in celebrating his well-lived life on Friday, December 27, 2019, at First Baptist Church of Kennett at 300 St Francis Street in Kennett, Mo. The remembrance celebration will begin at 10 a.m., with a social hour to follow.
