Services are Graveside 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery, with Visitation on Friday from 5:00-7:30 p.m. at the funeral Home.
Clay Ford, beloved father and friend, passed away on Wednesday, December 18th, 2019 at the ripe old age of 98. The son of D.O. and Alma Ford born on March 31,1921 in Tyler, Texas. He had one brother, John who proceeded him in death. Clay was raised in Tyler and served in the Army Air Force from 1942 to 1946 where he was a fighter pilot instructor earning the rank of Sargent. Upon his discharge he returned to Tyler, and along with his brother John, took over the family business, Lakeview Rose Nursery, which was one of the first three rose nurseries established in East Texas by his father D.O. After his retirement in 2000 from the rose nursery, he grew bored and went to work for Carl Owens paint and body and retired from this position in 2019. He loved watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers and loved "piddling" with his cows. He married Jane Burton and they have
two children, Rick Ford and Donna Henson both of Chandler. Also included in his family are son in law, Robert Henson, two grandchildren, Matthew Henson and Mandy Pollard. Grand son in law, Matthew Pollard and three great grandchildren, Landon and William Henson and Owen Pollard. These grand and great grands were his pride and joy and they loved their PawPaw very much. Clay never met a stranger and his laugh and smile will always be remembered.
