Gerald D. Hoffman, age 70 of Milford, DE and formerly of Collegeville, died on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 surrounded by his family. He was born in Norristown on January 14, 1949 son of the late William J. Hoffman Sr. and Lorraine (Huston) Bleicher. He was the beloved husband of Catherine A. (Spratt) Hoffman for over 50 years.
Jerry was born and raised in Norristown, PA where he attended Norristown High School. He went onto courageously serving his country as a United States Army Vietnam Veteran. He started working for the Norristown Times Herald at the age of sixteen and worked there for over 50 years. He quickly proved himself to be a keystone to the daily Times Herald operations and worked his way up to supervisor of the press room. He was a proud member of the Elks and the VFW. He enjoyed the beach, fishing and remodeling houses; but at the end of the day he was a family man who loved his family with all his heart.
Beside his wife, Catherine, he is survived by: his daughter, Deanne L. Moll (David) of Gilbertsville; 2 brothers, David (Diane) of Hanover and Douglas (Kim) of Florida; a sister, Beverly Hoffman (Nancy) of Flemington, NJ; 5 grandchildren (Jessica, Jeremy, Emily, Alexis and Zachary); 2 sister-in-laws, Susan Riley of Florida and Barbara Jean Holmes (Leo) of Florida; many nieces, nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his brother, William J. Jr. “Joe” Hoffman.
