Bill was born at home to John Everett and Bertilda Mae Willbanks Starks on April 25, 1944. His parents preceded him in death as did his brother, Frank Starks.
Bill graduated from Renick School and in 1964 he married his sweetheart, Carolyn. Bill and Carolyn married on Bill's birthday so that he would never forget his anniversary. Carolyn joked that it didn't work; he still forgot.
He held various jobs in the community, but the one he was most known for was his work at the Heddinghaus Lumber Company, where he helped countless people through the years as the "door and window guy". After Heddinghaus closed its door, Bill worked most recently as custodian and bus driver, as needed, at his alma mater, Renick School.
After retirement in May of this year, Bill spent his time doing what he loved most, spending time with his best friend, Carolyn and granddaughter, Kayla; tinkering on projects around the house, gardening, fishing and spending time with family and friends.Bill was a member of the King James Baptist Church in Moberly and is now singing with the angels in the heavenly choir.
Services honoring William Starks' life will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the King James Baptist Church in Moberly, MO.
Visitation will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the church.
