Elizabeth Guthrie Houston, was born in Bristol , TN to Clarence Fields and Bessie C Guthrie. She has live in Chattanooga, TN since 1971.

She received a BA decree from Bennett College in 1941 and an MA degree from East Tennessee State University in 1961. She retired as Director of Guidance at Brainard Jr. High School in 1983.

She is survived by her son, Fitzhugh Guthrie Houston (Jahna), and grandson Jonathan Guthrie Houston(Aunika),and six great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday December 21,2019 at 2:00p.m. at The 2nd Presbyterian Church. Chattanooga,TN.
