Born In Iredell County on April 8, 1934, she was the daughter of the late David Green Snow and Verla Keller Snow.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lawrence B. Swanson, Jr., whom she married on December 9, 1951 and shared 29 years of marriage before his passing.
She is also preceded in death by her second husband, Donald Ray Wooten, whom she married on July 2, 1986 and shared 6 years together before his passing on September 27, 1992; two brothers, John and James Snow, and three sisters, Sally Murdock, Nina Snow and Claudia Beaver.
Carolyn, better known as Sue, worked as a Traffic Control Clerk with Pic-N-Pay Shoes in Matthews, NC. She was a member of Lighthouse Independent Methodist Church.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Robbin Swanson; grandchildren, Caleb and Matthew (Elizabeth) Swanson and Tabitha Newsome (Kevin Montiel); two great-grandchildren, Anya Swanson and Alexander Montiel; two brothers, W. Tom Snow and Rudy Snow and two sisters, Faye Snow and Aileen Gryder and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, December 19, 2019 from 6-8 PM at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Friday, December 20, 2019 at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Mike Kilpatrick officiating. Burial will follow at Iredell Memorial Gardens.
