Obituary for Mr Raymond Wesley Collins, age 77, of Winter Haven
Mr. Raymond “Ray” Wesley Collins, age 77, of Winter Haven passed away at his home Thursday, December 12, 2019. He was born July 24, 1942, to Raymond and Juanita (Sauls) Collins in Greensboro, North Carolina. Prior to retirement Mr. Collins was an Insurance Agent. He was raised in the Methodist Faith and enjoyed working in the yard gardening and had a passion for growing flowers. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister Martha Collins Alday. Mr. Collins leaves behind is loving companion of over 20 years Dorothy Brown; three children Melissa Collins Schumacher (Craig) and Lance A. Collins (Karen) all of Peachtree City, Georgia and Raymond W. Collins, Jr. (Jill) of Gulf Shores, Alabama; two sisters Anne Collins Bokeny of Raleigh, North Carolina and Betty Sue Brady of Greensboro, North Carolina; nineteen grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also left behind are Dorothy’s four children along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Collins will be held Saturday, December 21, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Pastor Troy Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Santa Fe Cemetery.
