Cox, Sr., John L. Of Clemont, Florida, formerly of Jackson, Michigan, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at the age of 78. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis (Whitaker) Cox; sons, Willie and Johnny Cox, Jr. and sister, Pat Gerry. Johnny is survived by his wife, Jill Cox; sister, Dixie Tripp; two granddaughters, Jill Cox and Brandi (Sean) Fowler; daughter-in-law, Patty Cox; great grandchildren, Bryce, Kynslee, Annie and Clara; step-children, Denise (Tim) Nopper and Arron Vandeberg; step-grandchildren, Joshua Vandeberg, Jessica and Sarah Nopper as well as many nieces, nephews, loving family members and friends. He was born in Jackson, Michigan on April 4, 1941 to Glen and Cordelia (White) Cox. He was the owner of Cox Construction, loved woodworking, fishing, reading the Bible and spending time with family and friends. A Funeral Service will be held at Chas. J. Burden & Son Funeral Home on Monday, December 30, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Mr. Cox will be laid to rest at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
