Freeman Laverne ‘Smokey’ Jones, 90, of Richland Center died Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at the Richland Hospital. He was born on February 28, 1929 in Richland Center the son of Oscar and Elsie (Unbehaun) Jones. Freeman served his country in the United State Air Force. He worked at American Motors until 1960 and he returned to Richland Center and worked at Richland Milling. Freeman loved his horses both showing and driving his teams.

Freeman is survived by two sisters: Luetta Wood of Lake Geneva,
Lillian Jones of Richland Center;
many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Freeman was preceded in death by his parents Oscar and Elsie, brothers Theron, Leslie, Virgil, and Gaylord, and sisters Katherine Jones, Beulah Herlitz, and Madeline Frye.

A burial will be held at the Richland Center Cemetery in the spring. The Pratt Funeral and Cremation Service is assisting the family with their arrangements.
