Mary Elizabeth Bright, 88, of Sapulpa, OK, died peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2019.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, Dec. 23, at Bethel Baptist Church in Jenks, OK. Visitation will be held 1 p.m. – 8 p.m., Sunday, Dec 22, at Green Hill Funeral Home in Sapulpa.

Born on October 4, 1931 to James and Cora Herring, Mary married Jim Felix Bright on Nov 16, 1951. Mary was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, who loved God, her family and her church family fiercely. She was an avid candy maker whose special treats were always coveted. She loved gardening, bird watching, and little lap dogs. A gentle soul, she was also known to feed many stray cats so they would not be hungry. She herself loved ice cream, Pepsi, and Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Mary is survived by her sister, Betty Honeycutt; brother Emory Herring; her 3 children and their spouses, Linda and Leonard Pierson, Jim Felix Jr and Arlynda Bright, and Michael and Kathy Bright. Her 7 grandchildren and their spouses: Angela and Pete Haley, Tonya and Anil Gollahalli, April and Christopher Bright, Amanda and Tim Blair, Sammi Jo and Jeff Pence, Ashley Bright, and Joshua Bright.

She also is survived by 14 great grandchildren: Brittany Grant, Tori Grant, Sandhya Gollahalli, Kalyana Gollahalli, Indira Gollahalli, Jackson Felix Bright, Andrew Bright, Wesley Bright. Seven great great grandchildren Mason Mobley, Elliot Pence, Stella Pence, Reid Pence, Fletcher Pence, Destini Blair, and Michael Blair.

She is preceded in death by her dear husband, Jim Felix Bright Sr. and beloved parents James and Cora, sister Bobbie Smith, and brother Jim Herring.
