Nelda Jean (Cannon) Davis of Ida, Arkansas went home to be with her Lord on December 15, 2019 at the age of 94. Born on December 7, 1925 in Drasco, Arkansas she was the daughter of Noah and Lura (Seivers) Cannon.
Nelda Jean married John Ward Davis on April 27, 1957. She spent her entire life in the Drasco, Wolf Bayou and Ida communities, having lived at Ida since 2002.
Mrs. Davis was a dedicated Christian woman and was a Charter Member of the Drasco General Baptist Church. She enjoyed gospel music and served as church pianist for many years. She continued to play piano at home for enjoyment as long as her health permitted.
She was a member of the Busy Bee Extension Club for many years and enjoyed collecting and trying new recipes. She was a homemaker and enjoyed being home with her husband Ward on their farm at Wolf Bayou.
Nelda was preceded in death by her husband on April 15, 2004. Also preceding her in death were her parents and her nephews, R. B. Cannon, Jerry Cannon, Bob Cannon and Dale Vinson. She is survived by nieces; Lois Morris, Nita Altom, Darla Brown and Sue Howell, nephews; Norman Cannon Nolan Cannon, Ray Cannon and Danny Davis, a special cousin Lavon Killion other relatives and many friends.
A visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Friday, December 20, 2019 at Family Funeral Service. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. at the Drasco General Baptist Church by Rev. Billy Henderson and interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery at Wolf Bayou, Arkansas.
