Marie A. Stevens, a 52-year resident of Putnam Lake, NY, died peacefully with her family by her side at Danbury Regional Hospice on December 17, 2019. She was 88 years old.
Born on December 4, 1931 in Mt. Kisco, NY, daughter of the late Nicholas and Grace Gallodoro.
Marie met her husband when he swept her off her feet at her parents’ restaurant Nick’s in Putnam Lake. She married Daniel H. Stevens on June 18, 1950 at the United Methodist Church in Brewster, NY. Daniel predeceased his wife on November 23, 1967.
Mrs. Stevens was a telephone operator with NY Telephone and AT&T for over 25 years before retiring on December 28, 1989. She loved to cook and entertain. She was a devoted mother, loving grandmother and great grandmother.
Marie is survived by her loving children; Richard L. Stevens and his wife Donna, Barbara L. Stevens, Daniel H. Stevens Jr and his wife Lora, Kevin N. Stevens and his wife Trish, her 6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her 3 siblings Nicky, Sam and Patricia.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday December 21, 2019 at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church at 12:30pm. Interment will follow at Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster. Visitation will be held on Friday December 20th at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, NY from 4pm-8pm.
