Sherry Lynn Williams, age 74, was born to parents Charles Fletcher Burns and Eva Louise Green Burns in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, June 15, 1944. She passed away peacefully at home with loving family by her side on the late morning of Friday, February 8, 2019 in Garland, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years Smith Rodney Williams and parents Charles Fletcher and Eva Louise Green Burns.
Sherry is survived by her sister Linda French from Carrollton Texas, Sons Chuck Turner and Wife Tereasa from Edom Texas, Todd Turner and Wife Lisa from Garland Texas, Grand children Dylan, Jessica and Isaiah, Together with Rod came three children, Mike Williams of Prague, Ricky Williams of Hiram Georgia and Cathy Flowers of Huttig Arkansas, By her loving choice, three more children, Ana Marie De Avila, Jeff and Nikki Sullivan, from her 8 children, she was blessed with many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Sherry was born and raised in Dallas Texas where her parents started a sporting-goods store out of the back of a truck, building it into a store front on Harry Hines Blvd.. Her giving heart led her to work for Channel 8 for 10 years where she was a coordinator for Their Santa’s Helpers toy drive program gathering and distributing over 75000 toys per year to needy children at Christmas time. Sherry served 6 terms on Dallas County Grand Jury. Sherry’s dream job was working as a contractor for Pizza Hut for 12 years planning and coordinating anonymous Pizza taste tests for their new products. Her calling was to feed the world! Her selfless caring and compassionate love touched and effected many lives and she will be dearly missed.
Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Restland Funeral Home, Wildwood Chapel at 3:00 p.m..
