Kayla Gabrielle Nevins-Taylor, age 27, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 15th at Sacred Heart Hospital.
She was born on July 24, 1992 in Pensacola, Florida.
Kayla was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Doris Wells Thurman and Raymond “Buddy” Thurman and her paternal grandmother, Pearlene Kelley Nevins.
She is survived by: her loving and devoted husband of six years, William Caleb Taylor; daughter, Raylynn Abigail Taylor; mother and father, Tonyia Thurman Nevins and Davis Nevins; sisters, Danyelle Nevins Banter (Brian) and Hayley Nevins (Brandon); nephews, Zackary Banter “Zachee” and Remington Corley “Remi”; niece, Rachael Banter “sister”; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Kayla was a fighter from birth, overcoming so many physical obstacles in her life. She proved the doctors wrong time and time again with her achievements. She completed so many life goals they said would be impossible. She experienced Life, Love, Marriage, Motherhood and so much more. Kayla fought her entire life for health, for peace, for souls to be won into God’s Kingdom, and for children in our broken foster care system. She was an encourager, she was unselfish, she was loving, and she was giving. She was selfless until her last breath. She loved and was loved by the children she kept and many called her “Aunt Kay”. She took care of so many babies and this was her heart’s desire.
Kayla will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.
A Very Special Thank you to all the Doctors, Nurses, Physicians and other staff members that cared for Kayla her entire life. You have a special place in our hearts for the wonderful care you provided for her.
The family requests that you bring your children with you to the services instead of leaving them home. Children were Kayla’s heart and she would want it that way.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Trahan Family Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.
Funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Friday, December 20, 2019 also at the funeral home. The family is celebrating her life and has requested that you wear pink or bright colors. We will not be wearing black.
“We love you to the moon and back.”
