Her nickname, "Pep", was derived from the initials of her maiden name: Paula Etta Pfister.
She was the daughter of the late Haymo Victor Pfister and Marjorie Etta (Slocom) Pfister.
She married Walter Harold Johnson, Jr. on March 26, 1949, in Bound Brook, New Jersey. Paula's principle residences with Walter were in Springfield, Pennsylvania; Cherry Hill, New Jersey; Long Beach Island, New Jersey; and Venice, Florida.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Walter Harold Johnson, Senior, and one daughter Sandra Joy Johnson.
She graduated from Plainfield High School in New Jersey and attended Harcum Junior College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.
Pep enthusiastically embraced her role as housewife and mother. She especially cherished summer vacations with family on Long Beach Island, New Jersey. She was an avid gardener, loved her pets and animals, and was periodically active in politics. Pep had a keen sense of justice and would fight unremittingly to defend what she believed to be right.
She is survived by her two sons, a daughter-in-law, one brother and one grandson and his wife, as well as what brought light to her life and made her smile no matter what the situation was, her dear friend and advocate as well as her 5 grand fur-babies, Dobi, Diego, Nellie, Bella and Arlie. She also left behind many dear friends who cared and loved her so much. Everyone will miss Pep and her caring, kind heart. She could always get you laughing and never held her tongue when she had something to say.
There will be no services per the request of Pep. Arrangements are being handled by Atlantic Cremation Services, 3132 Wrightsville Avenue, Wilmington, NC.
At Pep's request, she will be cremated and her remains placed with her husband Walt. The final destination is to go to Cinnaminson, New Jersey to be buried with their daughter and other family members.
