Annie Bernice Ellis, age 80, of East Prairie, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at her home.
Born April 30, 1939, in Benton, Missouri, to the late Loyd and Thelma White Hayden, she had been employed as a supervisor for Brown Shoe Company. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in East Prairie. She attended church faithfully and was a Sunday school teacher for 35 years. Annie enjoyed cooking for her family and caring for her grandsons.
On May 27, 1960, in East Prairie, she married Shelby Ellis, who survives of the home.
Additional survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Dana Ellis of East Prairie; three brothers, Lowell Hayden of Bertrand, Missouri, Delbert "Bear" Hayden of Maine and Johnny Hayden of California; and two sisters, Sheila Kersey of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Beverly Harris of Charleston, Missouri. Also surviving are two grandsons, Brett Shelby Ellis and Hayden Ellis, both of East Prairie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 20, 2019, beginning at 11 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1 p.m. at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Rev. Mike Cartwright will officiate.
Burial will follow in Dogwood Cemetery.
