Halice "Clifton" Goff was the son of James B. Goff and his wife, Eliza Cora Clark. He signed his WWI draft card as Halice Clifton, but his death certificate uses the spelling Hallis. He is buried near his mother, Eliza Cora (Clark) [Goff] Williams, his step-father James Albert Williams, his uncle Selby Clark and wife Mattie B. Whitley Clark-Goff. Mattie was the widow of his uncle, Selby Clark, who was accidentally electrocuted in 1913. Mattie and Halice had a son, Clifton Goff, who died at birth on 30 December 1914.
