Kenneth Wayne Meyer, 84, of Hillsboro, IL, passed away Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 8:05 p.m. at his residence in Hillsboro, IL. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 12:00 p.m at Bass Patton Dean Funeral Home in Hillsboro, IL. Rev. James Hayes., Pastor of St. James Baptist Church in Hillsboro, IL and Mark Jagosh of Hillsboro, IL will officiate. Burial will take place at Elm Lawn Cemetery in Litchfield, IL.

Mr. Meyer was born on May 23, 1935, in Litchfield, IL, to the late William H. and Esther (Streigel) Meyer. Mr. Meyer served in the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany during the last part of the Korean War. Mr. Meyer married Beverly Atterberry on January 1, 1959 at Zion Lutheran Church in Litchfield, IL. He had worked as a truck driver and coal miner. Mr. Meyer loved pitching horseshoes, bowling, boating, and motorcycles. He lived in Litchfield and Hillsboro most of his life.

Mr. Meyer is survived by his wife, Beverly Meyer; his children, Lori (Meyer) Buckley of Hillsboro, IL and John Meyer of Taylor Springs, IL; Five grandchildren, Joshua Seward, Elisabeth Carpenter, Zachary Meyer, Jake Meyer, and Abby Meyer; Two great-grandchildren, Mordecai Carpenter and Ezekiel Carpenter; as well as three siblings, Earl Meyer of Forsyth, MO; Marvella Carney of Gillespie, IL and Delores Egelhoff of Litchfield, IL.

Along with his parents, Mr. Meyer was also preceded in death by two children, Tony Meyer and Jerry Meyer; and one brother, Delmar Meyer.

Memorials may be given to Quad County Home Health and Hospice in Pana, IL
