Charles was born Oct. 14, 1924. He served the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Libra, an auxiliary cargo attack ship in the South Pacific during World War II.
Survivors: Wife, Jean Bowles of North Richland Hills; son, Chuck Bowles of Austin; and daughter, Melinda Kirby of Fort Worth.
