Lee S. Merriam, a widely known resident of Erie Co for the past 40 years, died Tuesday evening at 11:30 o'clock at the family residence. 616 Neil St, after having been in failing health for the past three years. He was aged 60 years.
For 18 years Mr. Merriam served as Justice of the peace in Perkins Tp, but had been a resident of Sandusky for the past year. He also served for three years as clerk of the Perkins Tp board of election. He was also a member of Perkins Grange for a number of years, serving the organization as treasurer for three years. He was a member of Sandusky Lodge, No. 128, Knights of Pythias, and a member of the Perkins M. E. Church.
Mr. Merriam Is survived by his widow, one son, Leon P. Merriam, at home: three daughters, Mrs. Irving Lynch, of Sandusky, Mrs. Gilbert S. Knapp, of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Miss Evelyn Merriam, at home: one brother, Henry Merriam, of Bellevue. and three sisters, Mrs. Edith Trueadale, of Conneaut, Mrs. William Neff, of Grafton, O. and Mrs. John King, of LaGrange, O.
The body has been removed to the Lee B. Keller Funeral Home and funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Friends may call at the Keller Funeral Home where funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 17, at 3:30 p.m., the Rev. Roy S. Smith officiating. Burial in Oakland Cemetery under auspices of Sandusky Lodge, No. 128; Knights of Pythias.
