Ruth Shores Gambill, 85, died December 17, 2017, at Peter Moore Hospice House, Eugene, Lane County, Oregon. Ruth was born November 14, 1932, in Rolla, Kansas, the daughter of Herman and Georgie Hill Hunt.
She grew up in the farming community of Rolla and completed her schooling in the Rolla schools. On May 8, 1949, she married Melvin Shores in Rolla, Kansas and they were married for 29 years. An entrepreneur and beautician, Ruth owned and operated two successful beauty shops in Fairview, OK and Springfield, Oregon.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Terri (Shores) Randomski and numerous grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Georgie Hunt; first husband, Melvin Gale Shores; children: Richard and Craig Lin Shores; Tammi Lue (Shores) Buss; second husband, Donald Lee Gambill; siblings, Yvetta Weese; Marilyn Rauh; JD and George Hunt.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 PM, January 13, 2018, at Northwood Christian Church in Springfield. Arrangements by Andreason's Cremation & Burial Services in Springfield.
