Obituary for Daniel Wesley Walker

Daniel Wesley Walker
Daniel Wesley Walker, 48, of Pampa, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Friday, December 13, 2019 after a hard fought battle with Diabetes that he won as he entered Heavens Gates. He was born to Cecil Wesley and Glenda Lee Walker in Washington D.C. on January 6, 1971.

Daniel had made Pampa his home for the last 44 years. He worked most of his life in the oil field industry as a truck driver with the most recent being Triangle Well Service. Daniel loved to help people of all facets; he enjoyed going to Grannies/North Forty Restaurant and hanging out drinking coffee, visiting with the customers and even lending a helping hand when the restaurant needed something fixed. Daniel enjoyed being outdoors driving around in town, fishing, collecting “Hot Wheels” collector cars, listening to his favorite band “Metallica” and watching one of his favorite shows “Dead Pool”. If he was not doing that, he would be at home playing video games or putting together model cars and trucks. Daniel was a jokester kind of guy; however, with his dry sense of humor there were times you were not sure if he was joking or being serious. This was a trait he used well on his family and friends. Daniel cherished his family and loved his mother without boundaries for her loving devotion. He loved his little sister and with that love he would always somehow find a way to play a prank on her. He may be the one playing the prank, but just let someone say something or even suggest bothering his sister and he would be the first to defend and protect her because for him it was his duty. Daniel was blessed with a daughter that brought him two beautiful granddaughters that he absolutely adored. He was the kind of guy that would spend his last dollar on buying whatever his family wanted; may not be what they needed, but it was what they wanted.

He is preceded in death by his father, Cecil Wesley Walker; his grandparents, Kenneth and Nadine Westbrook and Paul and Beatrice Walker; three uncles, Charles Walker, John Mark Westbrook and Larry Thompson.
Those left behind to cherish a lifetime of memories are his mother, Glenda Walker of Pampa; son, Anthony Walker of Phoenix, AR; daughter, Ashley Thompson and husband Joshua of Pampa; sister, Jennifer Walker of Fort Worth; two grandchildren, Aaliyah Clendennen and Adrianna Thompson of Pampa and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Memorial Service on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the First Baptist Church. The family has entrusted the cremation care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
