Mr. Lipscomb, 44, of 6880 Barcliff Drive, Charlotte, died Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at his residence.
Funeral service is 12:00 noon Tuesday, December 27, at University Park Baptist Church, with Dr. Claude A. Alexander, Jr. officiating. Interment in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens. Visitation 11:00-11:55 AM Tuesday at the church, prior to the service.
Mr. Lipscomb was employed by the City of Charlotte, was a Boy Scout leader at University Park Baptist Church, was a boy's basketball coach at University Park Baptist Church, and was the co-founder of the Pace Setter Luncheon at University Park Baptist Church. He was a coach for AAU Basketball, was a founding coach of Charlotte Flames and coached baseball with Charlotte Mecklenburg County Recreation.
Survivors include his wife, Germanie M. Lipscomb of Charlotte; three sons, Deonte Lipscomb, Kellen Lipscomb and Garrean Lipscomb, all of Charlotte; mother, Agnes Little Lipscomb of Salisbury, NC; brothers, Larry Lipscomb, of Kannapolis, Steve Lipscomb of China Grove, Gregg Lipscomb of Winston-Salem, and Louis Lipscomb of Salisbury; one sister, Deborah Scott of Winston-Salem; and mother-in-law, Carrie Marshall of Columbia, SC.
A. L. Jinwright Funeral Service is serving the Bailey family.
