Ivory Pearl (Wynn) Jones was born July 17, 1932 in Leona, Texas to the parentage of Waymond Wynn and Elvy (Polk) Wynn. She attended school in the Leona School District and was baptized at an early age. Except for a brief time residing in Houston,
Mrs. Jones lived her entire life in Leon County. She was a longtime, faithful member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Leona, where she was involved in numerous auxiliaries and served as a Deaconess. Mrs. Jones loved singing and was a member of the church choir. She was also a member of the Starlight Singers Quartet Group. Additionally, she was a member of the Heroines of Jericho, which is a title conferred upon a Royal Arch Mason, their wives, mothers, widows, sisters & daughters.
Mrs. Jones loved spending time with her family and grandchildren and will be greatly missed. She passed away December 11, 2019 in Houston, Texas.
Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by both of her parents; husband; one son; two grandsons; two brothers and grandparents. She leaves behind to cherish her memories one son, six daughters, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great, great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
