Son of Russell and Amy Scharf Parks, he was the New Year's baby that year.
Survivors include wife Naomi; children Misty (Derek) Watson, Kelly and Russell (Karen Campbell) Parks; grandchildren Tabrina Clark and Ashley Watson; his life-long friend, Charles Matthews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved pet and partner Ranger.

He grew up in El Paso, TX and raised his family in Las Cruces, NM.
At the age of thirteen, Chris became an Eagle Scout, the youngest at that time, to achieve this status.

He worked at various jobs, and was also a volunteer firefighter in Radium Springs, NM. As a volunteer firefighter, Chris suffered catastrophic injuries at the scene of an accident, which changed his life forever. Yet, he never gave up and overcame tremendous obstacles.

He spent a large part of his life building and riding motorcycles, and prided himself on being an American, a hardcore biker, and devoted family man. He enjoyed all animals, but was most passionate about turtles and Bald Eagles.

Funeral services 7:45pm Friday, March 3 at Hill Baptist Church, Las Cruces, NM, with Pastor Bill Johnson officiating.
Visitation 7pm until time of service.
Arrangements are with La Paz – Graham's Funeral Home.

Chris' family would like to thank Naomi Hall for everything she did for Chris throughout his life and those who so lovingly cared for Chris during the last few years of his life: Pamela Mauldin, the staff of Mesilla Valley Hospice, and the staff of Casa Bella Assisted Living.
