Mr. Dyer, 76, passed away early Friday morning, December 13, 2019 at his home. Born May 10, 1943 in the Rural Sinkin Township of Dent County, MO, he was the son of William Martin and Julia Callahan Dyer. Dan was united in marriage on May 13, 1961 in Eolia, MO to Opal Louise Harding. This union was blessed with four children: Connie, Daniel, Jr., Bertha and Scotty. He served as a Police Officer for the cities of Winfield and Moscow Mills for many years. Dan is a former City Alderman and Winfield City Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Julia Dyer; one son, Scotty Ray Dyer in 2014; three brothers: Pedro Dyer, William Dyer, Jr. and Terry Dyer; and one sister, Linda Cox.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Opal Dyer of Moscow Mills; one son, Daniel Dyer, Jr. and his wife, Kim, of Moscow Mills; two daughters: Connie Bueneman and her husband, Dennis, of Moscow Mills and Bertha Dyer of Byrnes Mill, MO; one daughter-in-law, Cynthia Dyer of Troy, MO; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and one great, great-grandchild. Dan also leaves two sisters-in-law: Edna Nickelson of Winfield and Georgia Ann Gordon and her husband, Doyle, of Foley, MO; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of Funeral Services at 3:00 p.m. Friday, December 20, 2019 at Carter-Ricks Funeral Home in Winfield.
