Esther Sanders, 86, of Glasgow, died Wednesday, December 11, 2019.

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, December 14 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Fayette, MO. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, December 13 oat Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow. Interment will be at Washington Cemetery in Glasgow.

Memorials are suggested to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.

Glasgow resident, Esther Sanders, 86, passed away suddenly at her home on December 11, 2019. Esther Lucille (LaBar) Sanders was born September 18, 1933, in Purdin, MO, to the late Edward and Eva (Head) LaBar. She was baptized in 1953 and confirmed in 1958. She graduated from high school in Kansas City, MO, in 1951. She married LeRoy Sanders on March 10, 1957, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Salisbury, MO. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2012. Together they owned and operated the Tip Top Cafe for 11 years, serving many meals both there and catering special events. After LeRoy started his own trucking business, she baby-sat several local children over the years. Esther and LeRoy loved playing cards, especially with family, playing bingo, and attending Yellowjacket sports. They could be found on the front row of the bleachers at every basketball game. They were very proud to receive the Super Fan Award before LeRoy died. Their family was their pride and joy. They attended every game, concert, music program, etc. that their grandchildren were in. Esther was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Fayette. Survivors include son Ed Payne (Elizabeth) of Greenville, TX, daughter Jennifer Fuemmeler of Glasgow, son Eric (Terry King) Sanders of Springfield, LA, grandchildren Kurt and Brett Fuemmeler, Nathan (Jessica), Nicole, Nicolas, and Noah Sanders, Tommy Payne, Jared Payne, Joe Collins, and Lisa Barbour, sister Marilyn Elliott of Louisiana, MO, and many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and bingo friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sons Michael Sanders and Derald Payne, and sisters Madalene Capps and Sharon Howard. A funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Sanders will be 10 AM, Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in Fayette, with Pastor Andrew Etzler officiating. Visitation will be 5-7 PM, Friday, the evening before the service, at Friemonth-Freese Funeral Home in Glasgow. Interment will follow the service at Washington Cemetery in Glasgow. Memorial contributions are suggested to Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, in care of Friemonth-Freese Funeral Service, 112 Market St., Glasgow, MO 65254.
