Mitzi Lee Gibson, 65 of Appalachia, peacefully passed away on December 9th with her dear son, Devin, by her side.
Mitzi was born on March 10th, 1954, to Margaret and Herbert "Bill" Gibson at St. Mary's Hospital in Norton, VA. Mitzi graduated from Appalachia High School in 1972 and attended Northeast State where she later worked and retired as the Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Finances.
Mitzi was the Gibson Family Historian, attending every family gathering, game, and special event, also, never forgetting a birthday or anniversary. She adored her family and friends; she jumped at any chance to make memories with them. She was an example of radiating love and a treasure to all who knew her. She will be celebrated and remembered always.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Bill Gibson, and brother, Danny Gibson.
Mitzi is survived by her son, Devin Gibson; sister-in-law, Teresa Gibson; sister, Traci Barker (Bill); brothers, Mark Gibson (Rita), Kevin Gibson (Kita), Shane Gibson (Kelsa), Brennan Gibson (Melissa); uncle, Joseph Herbert Bishop; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 14th from 1 – 3 pm at Roy A. Green Funeral Home. The funeral service will immediately follow with Rev. David Rose officiating.
