Services for Billie Sue Daniel, 94, of Canton, are scheduled for 2 pm Sunday, December 15, 2019, at First Baptist Church in Canton with Dr. Ron Cook and Dr. Mike Roberson officiating, under the direction of Eubank Funeral Home in Canton. Interment will be in Haven of Memories.

Mrs. Daniel passed away December 10, 2019 in Sunnyvale. The youngest of twelve children, she was born August 29, 1925 in Canton to Charles Wesley and Amanda Mae Norman Ashworth. Her father was the mayor of Canton when she was born.

Mrs. Daniel graduated Canton High School in May 1942. She worked in the Van Zandt County Clerks office for Leon Cox from January 1943 until February 1944. On January 29, 1944, Sue married Henry Paul Daniel who was in the service. Two weeks after they married Paul was sent overseas for two years and Sue went to work for Van Zandt County Abstract Co. where she worked until March 1946.

After Paul returned home, they moved to Dallas for a short time and then back to Canton where Sue worked in the County Clerk's Office, this time for Billy Deen. She worked in the Clerk's office until 1950 when she quit to start their family. Their daughter, Paula, was born September 28, 1951 and their son, Bill, was born October 18, 1955. Due to Paul's job, they moved around before again returning to Canton. Sue then went to work for the Van Zandt County Tax Office for Joan Guess for several months. Then in the early part of 1957, Sue went to work for Elliott and Waldron Abstract Company of Canton. She became the manager of the plant in August 1965 p, when Ivan Alexander purchased Elliott and Waldron. Sue retired after 30 years of service on August 31, 1987.

Sue was known for opening up her home for family and community events such as wedding and baby showers. She hosted Christmas Morning Breakfasts for her neighbors for 58 years. In 2015 Sue sold her home and made the Country Place Senior Living The Pine her new home. The family would like to thank the staff for the excellent care the staff gave Mrs. Daniel.

Mrs. Daniel is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Amanda Ashworth; husband, Henry Paul Daniel; seven brothers; four sisters; and a son-in-law, Tony Stringer.

Sue is survived by her son, Bill and Kathy Daniel of Sunnyvale; daughter, Paula Stringer of Canton; four grandsons: Daniel Stringer, David Stringer, Brian and Jessica Daniel and Brandon and Lisa Daniel; four great-grandchildren: Hadley, Audrey, Henry and Luther Daniel; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mark Meredith, Danny Brock, Alan Daniel, Art Pool, Andy Pool, Larry Brock, Greg Minton and Paul Minton.
