She was baptized at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, south of Tecumseh, NE, near her family's farm. Later, her parents moved to rural Nemaha Co. NE, where she spent most of her youth. Adeline attended Sunday School & learned Catechism at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, also known as The Studheit Church. Attending a rural one room school, Adeline graduated from the eighth grade. Later that year, she was confirmed at age 13 yrs, making a true commitment to her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior. She met Melvin Kuhlmann at age 17 yrs and he courted her for two years by horse and buggy, never missing a single Wednesday evening. The couple were married on November 21, 1940. To this union were born three children: Robert, Sharon & Charles.
Adeline worked faithfully alongside her husband, first in farming, later in several outside jobs. In the 1950's, she supported his partnership with his nephew, Willard, in their Construction Business. In 1959, Adeline & Mel bought the Ranch Motel & Chuck Wagon Cafe' just outside McCook, NE, where Adeline was the chief cook. Later the couple pursued an Amway business where they found great success. Adeline was a devoted wife, and mother, and her hobbies were quilting, crocheting and playing cards with many friends and family. She was an avid supporter of BINGO.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Melvin, in 2006, by her son-in-law, David Huegel, siblings: Josephine (Clarence) Schmiegelow; Olga (Cliff) Hantak; Fredrick (Edna) Goos; Arthur Goos; Theodore Goos; Wilbert (Lucille ) Goos; Herbert (Carol) Goos; Bonita (Wilbur) Heidzig; Walter Goos, special friend Carl Mohr.
Adeline is survived by her children: Robert (Verleen) Kuhlmann, Sharon Huegel (Doug) Hoschouer, Charles (Teresa) Kuhlmann, 7 grandchildren, 13 great grand-children and 2 great, great grandchildren, sister-in-law: Joy Goos: many nephews and nieces, friends too numerous to mention.
