He was born in Detroit, MI, December 17, 1938, the son of the late Lawrence and Alma Powers.
Patrick was the loving husband of Mary Ann for 53 years, married on August 13, 1966. He was the beloved father of Thomas (Raphaela Neihausen), Maureen (Matthew Krause) and PJ (Shelley); cherished grandfather of Zoe Powers, Oliver and Alex Krause and Bez Neihausen; fondest brother of Michael (Shirley).
Patrick and his family had been parishioners of St. Bede, St. Michael and St. Clare. He volunteered with the Missionaries of Charity in Detroit and was a 3rd Order Franciscan. Patrick earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration and worked for Ford Motor Co., Wayne State University, GMI in Flint and the Engineering Society of Detroit. During his free time he enjoyed running and biking.
The Powers family will receive friends Monday, December 9th, 3-8 pm, with a rosary at 7 pm at the funeral home.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Tuesday, December 10th, at 11 am (with body in state at 10 am) at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 9565 Musch Rd in Brighton with a luncheon following.
His interment will take place at the church cemetery, Holy Spirit Cemetery.
