Obituary

Gladys Elsie (Aho) Fraki was born on August 22, 1952 in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota to Hugo and Elsie (Kumma) Aho. Gladys grew up with 12 siblings on the Aho Farm in Wolf Lake, Minnesota. She was baptized and confirmed in the Apostolic Lutheran Faith. Gladys graduated from the Menahga High School with the class of 1970.

On August 4, 1973 Gladys was united in marriage to Jesse Gene Fraki at the Spruce Grove Apostolic Lutheran Church in Wolf Lake, Minnesota. They resided in Rindge, New Hampshire for 6 months and then made their home back in Minnesota to farm in Ottertail. Their marriage was blessed with 15 children. In June of 1990 they suffered the loss of their 3rd son, Jacob Melvin along with Jesse’s only brother, Jerry. Thus began the road of tribulation suffering from depression and multiple other complications to the end. Despite her suffering, Gladys held strong to the hand of Jesus and to His merits. Teaching her children and grandchildren of Jesus and His love.

Gladys had the gift of hospitality and received all into her heart and home. She enjoyed baking, flowers, singing the songs of Zion and hearing the Word of God. She also loved playing with her grandchildren and supplying them with candy, snacks and all things children enjoy. She was a bride who adored her husband, loving him to the end and most importantly she loved the Lord Jesus and His atoning blood.

On December 4, 2019 Gladys peacefully slept away in Jesus’ arms and His eternal grace at her home at 67 years of age. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends. Preceding Gladys in death were her parents: Hugo and Elsie Aho; son, Jacob Melvin Fraki; brothers: Elias Aho and Rueben Aho; 18 grandchildren who never opened their eyes to this world.

Gladys is survived by her husband of 46 years, Jesse; 14 children: Samuel (Jennifer), Joseph (Joy), Noah (Katelyn), Anna Lisa (Hans) Lampinen, Katrina (Christopher) Aho, Caleb (Michelle), Jeremiah (Myra), Lona (Samuel) Holombo, Rachel (Taylor) Somero, Zachary (Jessica), Eunika (Russell) Aho, Titus (Tosha), Eva (Clayton) Kuusisto and Jordan (Rosa); 87 grandchildren with 4 expected to arrive by June of 2020; 1 great-granddaughter; brothers: Raymond (Janet) Aho, Reino (Peggy) Aho, Joshua (Deborah) Aho, Harry (Lori) Aho, and Harvey (Patricia) Aho; sisters: Eva (Larry) Salo, Elvi (Walter) Ketola, Alice (Marc) Ruotsala, Martha Aho and Esther (Paul) Impola; sisters-in-law, Nola Aho and Hazel Aho; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of friends.
