Obituary for Mr. Lacy Dwayne Smith
Lacy Dwayne Smith was born October 27, 1960 to the
proud parents of Walter Lacy Smith, Sr. and Etta Mae
O'Bryant in Ripley, Tennessee. Lacy began his spiritual
journey as a teenager. He continued to seek
understanding of the truth of God's word until he
departed this life.
Lacy attended Rufus King High School in Milwaukee,
Wisconsin and in 1977 enlisted in the United States Air
Force, where he was stationed in England (UK) and
worked in aircraft mechanics. He returned to Milwaukee,
Wisconsin upon discharge from the military. He is the
father of five children, and grandfather of four. Lacy, who
was well loved by his family, was an avid music lover. He
listened to everything from the smooth sounds of
instrumental jazz to soft rock n roll.
Lacy Dwayne departed this life on February 1, 2018. He
leaves to cherish his memories, his father Walter Lacy
(Linda) Smith, Sr. his mother, Etta Mae (Silas) Obryant, his
beautiful daughter Zoe Smith, sons, Brett Townsend
(Candace), Versailles, Maximillionand Collinwod Smith,
four brothers, Reginald (Martha), Darryl (Connie), Walter·
Lacy Jr. (Laura), Demonte' Smith, three sisters, Arnita
(Anthony) Fields, Diana, Thelma Peet, four grandchildren;
Jada, Kyra, Jahmai, and Veronica, aunts, uncles, cousins
and a host of friends and loved ones.
His family who preceded him in death were his
grandmothers, Beatrice Smith and Vieolar Bynum, his
grandfathers, Stanley Smith and Lutrell Pitts.
