Gerald D. "Jerry" Rhoades, 83, of Essington died February 19, 2017 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center. Born in Mt. Carmel, PA, he was the son of the late George and Anna Norman Rhoades and resided in Delaware County for 30 years.

Jerry was a member of the Church of St. John the Evangelist and was a former Vestryman and Usher. He was employed by Boeing Company as a Jig and Fixture Builder, before retiring in 1995. Jerry enjoyed playing cards with his friends at Notre Dame Golden Age Club, where he was Vice President. He loved watching the Eagles and Phillies, playing video games and Sunday visits with his grandchildren. Jerry enjoyed fishing, dancing, the casinos and trips to Indian Acres. He also loved to build Lego models and complex puzzles.

Jerry was predeceased by his first wife, Dolores Jennis Rhoades and his daughter, Linda Monteith.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Horne Rhoades; his children, Anne Broomall (Vincent), Gerald D. "Jerry" Rhoades, Jr., Karen Bodi (Steven) and David Rhoades (Joanne); six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; as well as his extended (Stinger)Family.

Burial Rite and Eucharist: 10:00 AM Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Church of St. John the Evangelist, 16 W. 3rd St., Essington, PA 19029
