Mrs. Rena Mae Moore departed this world in victory on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at Covenant Healthcare-Cooper. Age 81 years. She was born on November 9, 1937 in Magnolia, Arkansas the daughter of Coriner (Phillips) and Hughley Lee Moore.

Rena had a love for God and dedicated her life from youth to serve as an usher. In spite of her health issues she served faithfully and considered it an honor to be in the service of the Lord.

Mrs. Moore was a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Johnie F. Edwards, Sr. She enjoyed attending church and serving as a Foster Grandparent of Saginaw Public Schools, reading her bible and the daily bread. She loved spending time with and cooking for family, always passionate about giving. She was also passionate about sending notes of affection, cards and flowers to show her love and concern, it gave her great joy.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughter, Helen (Minister Thomas L.) Speed, Saginaw, MI; son, Jeffrey (Sophia) Moore, Sr., Falmouth, VA; four nephews and three nieces, (whom she raised as her own), Jimmy (Linda) Alexander and Brenda (Rudolph) Payton, Sr, both of Saginaw, MI, Marian D. Hickman, IL, Lee Ann (Frankie) Calbert, TN, John W. McDaniel, Saginaw, MI, Curtis (Jovett) Hampton, Houston, TX and Lon L. Hampton, Grand Rapids, MI; five grandchildren, Ebony (Andre) McAllister, Powder Springs, GA, Johnny E. Brown, Sr. Saginaw, MI, Rahmish B. Moore and Jeffery J. Moore, Jr. both of Falmouth, VA and Brittany M. Bonner, Lithia Springs, GA; 13 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Dottie Johnson, Flint, MI and Blanche Baker, Saginaw, MI; a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends including special friends, Rev. and Mrs. Stuckey, Pastor Lee Lathon, Lillie Harris, Barbara Tatum and Liz Harris.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her parents, Hughely and Coriner (Phillips) Moore; one brother, Andrew Baker; sisters, Velma Williams, Norma Jean Hampton, Sue Marie Moore and Samella (Tean) Ruth.

The family of Mrs. Moore extends special thanks to Brittany, Melissa and Michelle at Covenant Healthcare 3 Main, Dr. Natole, Dr. Patel, Pastor Johnie F. Edwards, Sr. and the Mt. Moriah Church family, Pastor C. Nickson and the United Church family.

Funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church, 130 N. 11th Street, Saginaw, MI 48601. Pastor Johnie Edwards will officiate with interment in Forest Lawn Cemetery, 3210 S. Washington Ave., Saginaw, MI 48601. Friends may call at the Evans & Browne's Funeral Home, 441 N. Jefferson Ave., Saginaw, MI 48607 on Friday from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m.
