Eddie Walker Gibson, 81, of Cleveland, TN passed away on December 8, 2019.

He was born on December 3, 1938 the only child of the late Thomas C. Gibson and Esther Vaughn Gibson.

Eddie was a Veteran of the United States Navy and he moved here to Cleveland with Westvaco in 1975. He was a faithful employee of Westvaco for 36 years. Eddie was an extremely talented man who held many hobbies. His most enjoyed hobbies were boating, golfing, and being a part of a flying club where he could show off his skills as a private pilot. In addition to these he enjoyed camping, snow skiing, and riding motorcycles. Above all of the things Eddie enjoyed in his life, his family was the most important. He loved spending time with them, especially his beloved grandchildren.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 45 years, Brenda Gibson; daughters Mindy Frey (Jason) and Shelby Anderson (Jack); grandchildren Justin Frey (Megan Morgan), Berkeley Frey, and Tyler Anderson; great granddaughter Karsen Frey.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm on Friday December 13, 2019 at Companion Funeral Home located at 2419 Georgetown RD NW, Cleveland, TN 37311. The service will be held at 12:00 pm at the funeral home with burial to follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to Hospice of Chattanooga on 4411 Oakwood Drive Chattanooga, TN 37416 or Alzheimer's Association at 7625 Hamilton Park Drive #6 Chattanooga, TN 37421.
