Mr. Pyles was born in St. Louis and was raised in Rome, New York, Des Moines, Iowa and Cincinnati, Ohio. He resided in Stamford, New Caanan and Greenwich, Connecticut before spending 25 years in Newport Beach, California. He and his wife moved to Cape Cod in 2006.
Mr. Pyles is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati and studied foreign languages at Syracuse University. He was a decorated veteran of the United States Air Force serving in West Berlin, Germany during the height of the Cold War. He proudly served as an honor guard member for President John Kennedy and for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Prior to retirement, Mr. Pyles was the founder, President and CEO of hardware and home improvement sales companies Road Runner Sales and Sunburst Sales & Associates. In retirement, he worked at the Home Depot in Hyannis. He supported the performing arts and was an avid sailor. A private ceremony will be held for Mr. Pyles. Donations may be made in his honor to the Wounded Warriors Foundation.
