Mr. James Mark “Slick” Strange, age 49, of Oak Park, died Monday, December 9, 2019, from injuries received in an automobile accident in Candler County.

Mark was born and in Savannah and lived in Oak Park most of his life. Earlier in his life, he worked in construction and currently was a millwright with Georgia Pacific for eighteen years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Soperton and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mr. Strange is survived by his wife of eighteen years, Debbie H. Strange; two daughters, Megan Strange and Morgan Strange; parents Larry and Elaine Strange, all of Oak Park; one sister, Traci Strange Hart and husband Shannon of the Center Community; mother-in-law, Faye Demastes of Oak Park; father-in-law, Lee Howard and wife Beverly of Washington; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, including a niece Madison Hart.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 12th, at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church of Soperton with Pastor Chad Cofield and Pastor Joshua Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the New Hope Primitive Baptist Church in Emanuel County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00.
