Nellie Faye Short Parker was born June 1, 1941 in Houston, Texas to Walter Short, Sr. and Vashti Retherford. She passed away on December 8, 2019 in Fort Worth at the age of 78. Nellie was a long time Hood County resident and was a 1959 graduate of Granbury High School. She was married to Howard Parker on June 16, 1960. She was a long-time member of Granbury Church of Christ. Painting was a passion, and she enjoyed her association with the Lake Granbury Art Association. She retired from the United States Postal Service and became a busy, doting grandma and great-grandma.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, brother, Walter Short, Jr. and son, Steve Parker.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Howard Parker, son, James Parker and wife Melinda; her sister, Marian Robertson; grandson Ki Parker (Jessica); granddaughters; Lauren Easter (Kyle), Natalie Parker (Michael), LaNae Rodriguez (Anthony), Stevi Parker (Justin), Delaigna Parker (Michael) and Winter Parker. Her great-grandchildren, Alyssa Rodriguez, Michael Rodriguez, Kamden Ledbetter, KayDee Goolsby, KiLee Kerr, ShelBea Kerr, Austin Easter, Bodey Easter, Charli Parker, Wyatt Patterson, Hunter Patterson, Rylee Young, Taylor Eason, Kasey Eason and Kiptyn Eason.
She is also survived by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law.

Service: 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 12, 2019, Granbury Church of Christ with the visitation one hour prior to the service, Interment: Rough Creek Cemetery.
